Relationships first
Warm, trusting relationships with educators help children feel safe, secure and ready to participate away from home.

WELCOME TO LITTLE ME
A warm, play-based pre-kindergarten program where Fernie children build friendships, confidence and kindergarten-ready skills.
Learn. Play. Grow. Belong.
Proudly serving Fernie families since 2016 with child-centred learning, outdoor adventure and a caring community.
☀ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
At Little Me, meaningful learning grows from play, curiosity and connection. Our goal is to give every child experiences that build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Children have time to explore, create, move, make friends and practise the everyday independence that helps them step confidently into kindergarten.
Warm, trusting relationships with educators help children feel safe, secure and ready to participate away from home.
Play, exploration, songs, stories and hands-on experiences keep children engaged while important social and learning skills grow.
Little Me is an active program. Walks, outings and everyday Fernie experiences help children connect learning to the world around them.
PRE-K, EXPLAINED

LIFE AT LITTLE ME
Our days balance shared routines with hands-on discovery, movement, imagination and plenty of time to build friendships.

LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Walks, parks, nature and community outings invite children to notice, wonder, move and feel connected to the place they call home.

readyREADY FOR WHAT COMES NEXT
Readiness is more than letters and numbers. It grows as children learn to communicate, participate in a group, try new things, care for their belongings and trust their own abilities.
Our structured, play-based program combines hands-on discovery with consistent routines and teacher-guided group experiences. Children practise working together, following classroom rhythms and building the independent self-help skills that support a confident transition to kindergarten.

When antibiotics are prescribed for a contagious bacterial illness, children must receive them for at least 48 hours and meet the symptom-free requirements unless Little Me provides different return conditions.
Staff receive children at 9:00 a.m.; children cannot be dropped off early or enter unattended. Regular dismissal times are 2:45 and 3:00 p.m. Please note the pickup time in your child’s agenda. Children are released only to a parent, guardian or authorized pickup person.
Little Me dismisses at 3:00 p.m. If an unexpected delay occurs, contact staff immediately. A late pickup results in a written warning; continued late pickups may require a 2:45 p.m. pickup time and a meeting with management.
Children over age three must be fully toilet trained: able to recognize and communicate the need to go, manage clothing, use the toilet and complete basic hygiene with minimal help. Occasional accidents happen; repeated accidents may require enrollment to pause until the child is ready.
Arrival after 9:10 a.m. is considered late. A parent or guardian must accompany a late child inside, supervise and help them get ready, and deliver them directly to their teacher. If lateness becomes an ongoing concern, Little Me may invite the family to a supportive conversation so we can work together on a more consistent arrival plan. For same-day lateness or absence, text 250-423-1095.
Little Me is nut-free. Families must share all allergies, asthma and medical needs and provide a current action plan when required. Children eat while seated and supervised; round foods must be cut lengthwise, and hard candy and throat lozenges should not be sent.
Fun Fridays run from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. on scheduled SD5 school days and focus on play, socializing, themes and activities. They are included for Full Week students; eligible part-time students may pre-book when space is available.
